This movie was a train wreck. Where is her mom. This is the best adaptation of Harley Quinn as a character in cinema, in my opinion. It's just unfortunate that this great character constantly gets stuck in lazy and poor writing. First with Suicide Squad, now with Birds of Prey. Margot Robbie is such a perfect casting with her skills too, just please get some good writers to support her role.
The plot is very lazy and quite uninteresting. There's a dozen other things you could've done with the character Black Mask, but they instead made him quite irrelevant until the third act. The whole plot follows a wild goose chase, but then that ends pretty quickly because Harley Quinn already found Cassandra Cain (the girl who carries the diamond) in the second act. The chase was too quick, so they had to fill in the second act with a bunch of useless exposition. What I'm trying to get at is that this plot was a terrible choice, and it also had a terrible execution.
The acting by Margot Robbie was so perfect that it actually made all the other performances look lazy. The supporting cast didn't do a bad job, but it certainly doesn't help if you're side by side by Margot Robbie playing her best role.
When it comes to the characters, all of them were terrible except Harley Quinn. There were so many characters that were underdeveloped in this movie, especially Huntress. Huntress has to be by far the most useless character I have ever seen in cinema. Huntress' role in the film was only explained near the end of the film; and her character gets such little screen time. If you were to completely remove this character from the script, literally nothing would change. Black Mask is another character that was poorly executed. I don't know how, but they actually made Black Mask a boring character.
Birds of Prey is a perfect example of poor writing ruining a movie. Almost all of the faults can be blamed on the screenwriters. So far, I'm just going to hope that the next couple of adaptations of Harley Quinn can actually get some good writers.

Only thing i got from this is that margot robbie didn't do enough research in rat keeping. you have to keep at least 2 of them. I love how she actually technically became her.
